We recently spent a day in Salado, Texas, a small Texas town near Austin with lots of small-town charm!
I actually grew up going to luncheons at Salado’s Stagecoach Inn, and I fondly remember running down the steps to the little playground out back with a child-size Stagecoach, perfect for playing! The Stagecoach Inn is a historic landmark, and it is slated to re-open later this year. The scrumptious hushpuppies were always a highlight!
Along Main Street, you will find multiple historic landmarks along with thriving art studios and shopping boutiques.
The beautiful creek is perfect for wading, and the area makes a picture-perfect location for family picnics!
While you’re there, don’t miss Johnny’s Steaks and BBQ! You might also enjoy homemade fudge from Sir Wigglesworth on Main Street!
