I am a huge fan of vacations. Rather than spend my money on “things,” I would choose a vacation any day!
This past fall, after looking at some various travel options, I stumbled across the Disney Wonder which sails out of Galveston. I had been debating between going to Disney World with our daughter, or heading to a beach resort. With the Disney Cruise, I felt like we were able to get both experiences!
We booked a 7 night cruise in an ocean view room on the Disney Wonder with ports of call in Jamaica, Grand Cayman, and Cozumel. By traveling in November, we were able to get a great rate.
Living in Texas, driving to Galveston was extremely convenient. We didn’t have to deal with the hassle of the airport, which was a big win in my opinion. Once we boarded the ship, we enjoyed watching the dolphins from our window for about an hour!
Our daughter absolutely loved her bed. She enjoyed watching Disney movies during our afternoon resting times.
The room actually had two separate bathroom areas: one with a tub/shower and sink, and the other with sink and toilet. Definitely made things more convenient!
Here are pictures from the Animator’s Palate restaurant, which transforms from black and white to color during the course of your dinner.
These pictures are from the Triton restaurant, which features a huge, beautifully detailed tile mosaic along an entire wall.
Here is something that I absolutely adored about our Disney cruise. Not only do they distribute anti-bacterial hand wipes to each person before every meal, they require you to sanitize your hands each time you board the ship. As a parent of a germ-sensitive child, I really, really appreciated this. Contained cruise ship passengers can break out with serious diseases very rapidly, so Disney takes cleanliness very seriously!
