We aren’t especially huge fans of Halloween, but dressing up for a fun fall festival or event can be lots of fun each year! As my little one and I have been talking about what she wants to “be” this year, I decided to post our pictures from last year’s costume! I made an inexpensive “scarecrow princess” costume, but somewhere along the way, she changed it to “pumpkin princess,” so names are overrated I guess.
Since we were in Colorado this time last year, we needed some warmth! I purchased an inexpensive brown turtleneck and she wore her tan fall boots and brown leggings.
For the tutu, I used a piece of elastic, three rolls of tulle (orange, brown, and cream), and a roll of raffia. I alternated tying the three colors all the way around the band of elastic and incorporated the raffia all the way around as well. Hobby Lobby has their tulle rolls 50% off lots of the time, so keep that in mind!
For the hat, I purchased an inexpensive witches hat and inverted the point. I then covered the hat in brown felt using a hot glue gun. I added autumn leaves, raffia, and a few orange jewels. Voila!
