When my toddler wakes up from her naps, sometimes I like to have a little activity waiting for her! While she is calm and rested, she will sit and play quietly–which is a nice break for mom!
Muffin tins and colored pom-poms are so versatile. I placed them on a blanket on the floor along with an extra bowl and some kitchen tongs. She had never used tongs before, so it was a novel concept for her. It took her several minutes to get the hang of it. It was a great activity for strengthening her hand muscles and working on those fine motor skills! (Both are important parts of toddler development.)
We’ll re-visit this one again soon, I’m sure!
