For the holidays, we did a scary thing–instead of flying home to Texas for Christmas, we drove non-stop for 17 hours with a toddler and a dog in tow. We stopped only for fuel and restrooms.
For my toddler, I packed a tote bag with several new books and toys, and Grammy and Poppa generously provided a portable DVD player which was a lifesaver!
Aside from some heavy traffic in Denver and a 5-minute meltdown from our toddler around 10:30 p.m., it was smooth sailing. (I can say that because I took a little nap while my husband drove through the night. Thanks, husband.)
Ten days later, we did the same thing in reverse.
