I have to be honest. I am blown away by how simple this toy is but how much it captivates my daughter. Since she was around 11 months old, this has consistently been her favorite toy. She has other favorites, but this one has been our go-to toy, and she is 19 months now. It is perfect for pre-toddlers and toddlers.
Hiding a ball inside the cups now, and playing in a windowsill many months ago.
We received these Fisher-Price Brilliant Basics Stack & Roll Cups
for Christmas from my husband’s sister when I was still pregnant with my little one. So, the toy sat on the shelf in the closet until she was almost a year old.
There are no bells and whistles, no batteries required. It is a classic. There are lots of child-size pieces, but not too many. From an early age, she loved the little yellow jingle ball. As she’s gotten older, she’s been able to manipulate the pieces in more advanced ways. The cups stack in different ways and form balls to roll.
We play together and work on colors and sizes. We also use the cups to sort colors with her other toys (like the blocks and the bug puzzle in the pictures).
If you are looking for a very inexpensive toy for a 6-36 month old, I would highly recommend the Fisher-Price stacking cups. Our little one never gets tired of these. She can manipulate them and stack them and connect them, and she just loves it. The little jingle ball is a crowd favorite, and she loves hitting the cups together. When you stack these ten cups together into one giant ball and then open it up, she is fascinated by the colorful rainbow inside. At this point, she is probably going to take these to college with her. She LOVES them! I can confidently say that you can’t get a much better toy for your money.
Since these can be pieced together into one compact ball, they have been great for traveling, as they don’t take up much room in a suitcase or diaper bag.
