Here’s another craft project I’ve been wanting to try for a while: freezer paper stenciling. I decided to monogram a onesie! This project is super fun, easy, and inexpensive! First, I started with a onesie. You can get plain single onesies or packages at the craft store, Carter’s store, Walmart, Target, in addition to other places. Then, you need a roll of freezer paper, which can be found next to the foil at grocery stores. You’ll need fabric paint. Finally, you’ll need an exacto knife and an iron.
I found a font I liked and created the monogram in Microsoft Publisher, but you could easily use Word or a similar program. Print it out as an outline. Then lay your freezer paper over your printout. Carefully trace the outline with the exacto knife. I taped my freezer paper to my printout to avoid slippage. Make sure the shiny side of the freezer paper is down.
Once you’ve cut out your stencil, lay the stencil (shiny side down) on your fabric, and iron it on. Then fill in the stencil by dabbing the fabric with your fabric paint. When you’re done, just peel off the stencil!
